POST 916

So 916 has come and gone. Malaysia was to have a new government but that did not happen. Am I disappointed? Sure. Am I angry with and have I lost my faith in PKR? No. Do I believe that PKR has the required numbers of MPs to form a government? Yes. It was never going to be easy. We all knew that. The ruling government will not make it easy. And I believe that PKR was right in trying to have the transition done in a peaceful way rather than bamboozle their way in. We all know the BN government in trying to keep its hold on power, will use the ISA or some other draconian measures to stop a PKR led government from taking over, the excuse being that the latter ‘pose a threat to security’.  And PKR has to tread carefully to avoid giving BN that very excuse. So what if we don’t have a new government as expected on 916? or 1016 or 1216? What is important is change is imminent, change is possible and change there will be before the end of the year.

Although the PM has indicated that he will not use the ISA on Anwar, he may still play hardball and make things difficult for the latter, for example, by not extending his bail come Sep 24 when Anwar goes to court to face a sodomy charge. A lot is at stake here and unless Badawi is the gentleman we all feel he is , only that he has been ill-advised by his coteri of ’close advisers’, then we can all expect some tense days and weeks ahead with both presiding government and government-in-waiting going all out for the home stretch.

DOESN’T IT BOTHER YOU?

Monday, 15 September,

Doesn’t it just get to you the going-ons in our country? The stupidity of it all? And surely one wonders about the intellectual abilities of our leaders? I cringe each time our Hamid of the Home Ministry opens his mouth to decry the need for ISA or police action on anyone who voices an opposing view to the leadership, aka government. And I cry for our country whenever one of our leaders comes up with a policy or decision only to do a flip-flop the next day. Sigh…….I mean, don’t they deliberate and think about the impact or consequences of their actions first before they open their mouths to say anything? What this country need is A CHANGE. There really is no other option. The current batch of leaders have shown that they are incapable of reforming to the needs and wishes of the rakyat. They are all self-serving politicians with no inkling as to what ‘governing is’. They have forgotten that they are the rakyat’s elected representatives and they can be voted out every 4 or 5 years. They have forgotten that they are where they are to supposedly take care of the needs of the rakyat, not themselves or their families and cronies. I feel sorry for our children and future generations if these same fools are to remain as our leaders. I feel ashamed that the world is privy to the ineptness of our leaders. I feel so frustrated. I don’t know whether a new government will be any better but I am willing to take that chance because anything is or should be an improvement to the current hee-hawing and rudderless leadership.
